Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 11, 2026

Filament (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information required to run Filament's licensing, billing, account access, and support flows:

How We Use Your Information

Data Retention

Filament stores license records, activation history, webhook audit events, and validation events for operational support, fraud prevention, and billing reconciliation. We do not promise a fixed short retention window in the current product. We retain those records only as long as reasonably necessary for support, operational, security, and legal needs, after which they may be deleted or anonymized. Polar retains purchase records according to its own legal and operational requirements.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Cookies

Filament does not use tracking or analytics cookies on the public site. Authentication and customer-dashboard access may use session cookies, and opening the customer portal may create additional session cookies through Polar or our authentication provider.

Site Statistics

We count page and download requests on our own server so we can see how many people are finding Filament and which platform they take it on. A request is recorded with the page, the platform, the referring site or campaign tag, and the country our host reports.

To tell one visit from ten, each request is filed under a hash of the IP address and browser identifier combined with a secret that changes every day. The IP address itself is never written down, the hash cannot be traced back to it, and yesterday's hashes cannot be matched to today's — so the record shows how many people arrived and where from, and not who they are. Nothing is stored on your machine and nothing is sent to an analytics company.

Trial Behavior

The Filament trial uses the same desktop binary as the paid app. The trial restrictions are functional product limits, not telemetry: export remains disabled, and live output is disrupted every 20 seconds until the app has a valid paid license.

Your Rights

You may request access to or deletion of personal data that we control, subject to our legal and operational obligations. Some purchase and billing data is controlled by Polar. Contact support@filament.click if you have a privacy request.
